play for the fun of it or do something else to give meaning to your life

now the PVE can have that so called *honor*
play for fun or join the Peace Corps for *meaning*

it is a game so why be sore if more people can have the fun of going there?

This change is revolutionary it:
-indirectly moderates drop rates
-makes favor more accessable to everyone
-isnt based off region
-makes the game more challenging (yes, i consider this a pro)

I could probably list more if i wanted

The two bolded points make as much sense as a Chinese hot dog.

Just because a system works, doesn't mean it's rational...

Its just my opinion, Doesnt make it necessarily true

Lol and a chinese hot dog? interesting analogy....

but if the system controls the flow in and out of Fow/Uw then i rationalize that it will control the flow of ecto and shards out of them. Its just like a stop light moderates traffic.

And as far as challenging goes, Many people use Fow to help get Survivor titles due to the huge amount of experience. It was my fault that i wasnt specific enough.

BTW, American here.
Another valid input from a jerk-off who would had given the same advice as "Adapt". Shortcomings? Please, the system is so screwed to the point that people who actually have a life cant even have access to an area that a lot of there goals are set upon. Its like going to six flags but you cant ride the funnest rides because your "regional team" of performers didnt do well enough to beat the next regional team 300miles away. What a waste. People go into HoH dont win for favor. That assumption is by far on the most assnine ones i've heard in a while.

Though right now, its been perma-favor, I believe its because its the first weekend, and everyone wants to max out a title and get their name up there, which is understandable. But I believe eventually, the amount of favor time will die down. Unless theres dedicated people out there getting max SS/LB titles on all their toons, if so, props to you.

Also, for all the people that ONLY PvP (yes, I PvP too, but I love me some Pve, dont use this as a flame, Im probably higher ranked than you) and I have my name up for winning Halls a multitude of times. Yeah, its kinda cool, especially when you EARN favor, not just win. But, to be honest with you, Im gonna be about a million times happier when it says "Koo Ooomar has earned the title "Grandmaster Treasure Hunter" than I would have ever been from winning halls.

HOPEFULLY we dont have favor all the time, I have a decent amount of pinky balls that I dont want to become worthless, but I think the market will balance back at 5k, then slowly go up, as more people max titles. Then slowly start dropping as people start maxing the GW:EN titles. Thats just my Money Market advice

Contradictory much? Either that or you are extremely confused... japan/taiwan/whatever NEVER HAD FAVOR, it was basically europe and america 99% of the time, now favor is WORLDWIDE but you're saying they got favor more often then? explain your logics or be quiet.

so far favor is constant and thats great. I love it. everytime i log in there is at least 40min till favor ends or even 80mins left. Haven't seen it without favor yet.

I'm sure Anet will adjust how many titles can affect favor in the future. So please stop saying that maxed titles won't work in the future. 3million people playing the game, maxing title won't die anytime soon, so just play the game and enjoy it.

From day one, I thought the old favor system was the worst part of GW. Not because of the usual stated reasons, but because I thought that it drug nationalism and discrimination, quite unnecessarily, into a fantasy world.

Instead of talking about in-game nationalities like Ascalonian and Krytan, everyone was always bitching about Koreans, or Europeans, or Americans. What a terrible thing to artificially add to a video game, what with all of the miserable things going on in the real world these days.

I couldn't be happier to see the end of that system. Good riddance!

As for worrying about the number of players getting titles being few and finite, I instantly thought about that, too, but then I realized that surely Anet has been gathering and studying data on things like how often per hour someone worldwide achieves a valid title, and took that into account when designing this system.

I'm equally sure that if, in the future, everyone has gotten their titles and it turns out that we never have favor, Anet will notice this and change the system again.

I don't think it's too blindly optimistic to think that Anet has more data than we do, and will use it.

I like it. This is a big improvement, your character name gets displayed to the whole world when you max a title. People going for FoW armour don't have to endlessly wait for favor to change hands.

20% of the people are opposed to anything anyway, and they tend to be the loudest 20%.

I'm what you'd call a casual player, and every time I've logged on since the change we've had favor. I don't see a problem with it.
